Prepare Your MINDs for Action!

Greetings friends,

In life, we all know what it feels like to show up to something unprepared. There could be a sense of unrest in the soul, fear, and trepidation. We also can struggle with an uncertainty of our own standing in the world amongst other people. We all have done it. Whether in school or at work or something involving our families, sometimes we show up unprepared. Nevertheless, God is still at work, and everything usually turns out OK. In those times, we also can learn a bit of a lesson. We learn that showing up for something prepared is a much better experience and usually results in better outcomes. In fact, in 1 Peter 3:15 God calls us to be prepared to give a reason for the hope we have in Christ. 

Much of what we do with The Gospel Underground is preparing others to advance the mission of God in the borderlands between the church and culture.

• We create resources and train church leaders to be resourced and prepared to make more and better prepared disciples.

• We prepare college students to put their faith in Christ and influence the world around them.

• We help prepare God‘s people to thoughtfully engage with people and culture in the moments of time that God has given to us.

As I spend significant time around high-level coaches and athletes, I get to watch them go after big goals. They test themselves and sharpen their skills in order to compete at the highest levels. It is often said in these circles that success is possible when preparation meets opportunity. I find this saying to be true.

Over the past eight years, we have committed to serve others in a behind-the-scenes, underground way. We have worked to strengthen leaders, make disciples, prioritize local churches and families, while living our lives in the overlapping spaces between the church and culture where people can hear the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Part of our own preparation is trusting God’s provision for this work. God has been so faithful to provide fuel for our ministry through faithful monthly and annual partners with our ministry. This year’s matching opportunity will allow us to be in a good position heading into 2025. Three faithful ministry partners are providing $27,500 as matching funds to help prepare and propel us forward into the new year.

Would you pray with us that God would provide the funds to fully match these gifts? By faith, we are trusting the God with a 60K year-end fundraising goal and ask you to pray and participate with us in this!

Our most recent annual report that went out in late September represents a summary of our work to advance the mission of God in the borderlands between the church and culture. It is indeed an honor to serve the king in partnership with friends like you.

Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
